At present, with the increasing attention and participation of video games, video games have become one of the important ways of entertainment and social interaction in the contemporary era.More and more people have experience of participating in video games.High-level players have better performance than low-level players, but we do not know how the difference performance in the behavioral response. At the same time, the difference in behavioral performance may be due to changes in the brain mechanism of players who have accumulated long-term experience in video games. In recent years, the influence of video games on brain mechanism has become a hotspot in cognitive psychology research. However, most of the studies focus on the relationship between video games and cognitive function, and less on the impact of video games on cognitive processing. In view of the excellent performance of high-level players in the game,we speculate that video game experience can effectively improve the cognitive processing process of high-level players, thus further improving the behavioral response of high-level players. In this study, the event-related potential(ERP)technology was used to study the different stages of cognitive processing using the choice go/no-go paradigm. The differences of behavioral responses between high-level players and low-level players were found, and then the effects of video games on cognitive processing were found. In this study, between groups using single factor contrast to experimental design, the high-low level of game players as independent variables, using different levels of the video game experience to explore the differences in the results of completing the experimental tasks.20 high-level players(expert group)and 20 low-level players(amateur group)were collected for this study. The behavioral and EEG data of the subjects were recorded. After independent sample t-test,the differences of behavior and cognitive processing between two groups were compared and analyzed. The results show that, due to the accumulation of long-term experience in video games, the response speed of the expert group is faster than the amateur group. In the early perception stage of cognitive processing, the attention function of the expert group is better, and in the execution stage the response of the expert group players is faster. These results indicate that long-term video game experience has a shaping effect on the stage of stimulus registration, recognition and response execution during cognitive processing, and is very important for studying the brain mechanism of game players and migrating game experience to other cognitive processes.
