Alice Munro(1931-),A famous contemporary Canadian short story novelist,She also is the first Canadian who wins the Nobel Prize winner of literature and enjoys high praise in the literary world.Different from other Nobel laureates,she is only devoted to the creativity of short stories,but the hidden information content behind her short stories cannot be underestimated,which is closely related to her unique creative ideas and narrative methods.Scattered story scenes,chaotic interlaced time and space,the interweaving of fantasy and memory make the story in the form of paper-cut to be presented in front of readers,so one text has multiple meanings in the eyes of different readers.This unique reading experience is closely related to the uncertainty in her novels.Consequently,this paper mainly adopts the method of careful reading the text with the "Indeterminacy" theory of postmodernism to analyze the undercurrent surging under its calm narration.This paper is divided into five parts: the first part is the introduction,It briefly expounds the background and significance of the topic,sorts the domestic and foreign research review,and explains the theory of "Indeterminacy” briefly.The second part mainly discusses the uncertainty of her writing from the character image of the novel,which is mainly manifested in two aspects: one is the vague character image;the other is the marginalization of the male image.The third part mainly discusses the uncertainty of the plot narration in Munro's novels,which is mainly manifested in the lack of the plot and the arrangement of the fragmented plot.This part is an important reason for the uncertainty of Munro's novels.The uncertainty of the plot is the key factor that leads to many possible factors in her novels,and it is also the way in which the author conveys her concept of life.The fourth part divided into two parts to discuss the uncertainty of the novels language: one is to explore the uncertain information behind her ordinary language;The second is to express the uncertainty of her language through the paradoxes language and restatement classics in her novels.The fifth part mainly discusses the uncertainty of the theme in Munro's novels: one is the multidimensional meaning of the theme,the other is the virtual nature of the theme construction.Finally,in the conclusion part,through summing up and analyzing the uncertainty characteristics embodied in Munro's novels,feeling the author's creative view and the life view that she wants to conveys,and makes a brief comment on this creative way.
