On The Interpretation And Shaping Of Femalecharacters From The “Single Play Letter From Astrange Woman”

Drama is an artistic form with strong stage expression and appeal.The origin of drama comes from human's original instinct and desire,that is,to express a signal or inner emotion through body and language.As actors,we should transform this primitive instinct and desire into a vivid performance on the stage and express our works in the prescribed situations.Single play has become a very important and irreplaceable form of theatrical expression on the stage of today's drama art.Through an actor's lines,body and action,the story plot,the relationship between the characters and the contradictions and conflicts are presented to the audience.Compared with the traditional forms of drama in the past,single play has made great breakthroughs in the expression techniques and performance concepts.As a graduate student majoring in theatrical performance,the undergraduate period has made a preliminary exploration of the stage performance of actors in single play.During the postgraduate period,the author prepares the single play "Letter from a Strange Woman",which requires more in-depth study of Zweig's novels.The re-interpretation and re-analysis of "stranger woman" in Letters from a strange woman,movies and Meng Jinghui's avant-garde dramas will lead to a new interpretation and break the conventions and create a novel single play "Letter from a strange woman".This paper makes a comparative analysis of novel,film and single play,breaking the convention: discussing the background of novel and novel writer's creation;artistic affinity from novel to film;artistic confrontation between Meng Jinghui and Zweig.Macroscopic comparisons have triggered a new understanding of the image of "strange women",thus analyzing the inner contradictions of "strange women" from the perspective of female psychology,and carrying out self-interpretation and re-shaping of "strange women" to find out the author's "strange women".In contrast with Meng Jinghui's avant-garde drama,it triggers a re-exploration of the singles play A Letter from a Strange Woman,and seeks the key points of singles' performance,richer stage forms and unique stage design,which triggers a new thinking of singles' drama form.
