Study On Song Chunfang's Dramatic And Theatric Theory

At the end of the 19 th century and the beginning of the 20 th century,Chinese drama experienced a process from birth to continuous development.Song Chunfang,a modern playwright and theatre theorist in China,firstly introduced western drama and theory to the Chinese theatre world,so that Chinese theatre workers could understand the modern theatre trends of thought,theatre schools,theatre theory,stage art and famous dramatists and their works in Europe and the United States,and promoted the development of modern Chinese theatre art.He also made contributions to the reform of Chinese theatre and the construction of new theatre theory.The first chapter of this thesis analyzes Song Chunfang's pluralistic theatrical concepts.Song Chunfang attached importance to the "artistry" of drama as well as the social function of drama.Except advocating western drama,he also put forward the idea of preserving traditional Chinese opera.And he was keen to introduce the new trend of modern drama.Song Chunfang's scientific,comprehensive vision of drama and pluralistic concept of drama were embodied.The second chapter discusses Song Chunfang's theoretical exploration in drama creation.Song Chunfang made a calm and deep thinking and research on the construction and development of Chinese drama.In the creation of Chinese drama,he put forward a series of theoretical propositions,such as paying attention to the audience's aesthetic psychology,advocating comedy,drawing lessons from "well-made play" and Li Yu's opera,which are in line with the current situation and have a remarkable impact on the development of Chinese drama.The third chapter explores Song Chunfang's ideas and opinions on theater reform.Song Chunfang introduced the innovation of theatre art in Europe from the perspective of precise theatre aesthetics,to the new theatre and the little theatre.He searched for the living source of western modern stage art to promote the theatre innovation in China.This paper expounds,differentiates and demonstrates the theory of Song Chunfang's drama from the above aspects and perspectives in order to comprehensively understand and grasp Song Chunfang's pioneering contribution in the history of Chinese drama.
