As an important part of function words,the adversative conjunction is a key and difficult point for the second language learners.They are fallible when use it.There are many similarities and differences between Chinese and Japanese adversative conjunction,so this paper makes a comparison based on ontology research,focusing on the three levels of semantics,connection functions and pragmatic functions.Combined with the biased corpus generated by Japanese students in HSK,it analyzes the causes of the errors that occurred when they learn Chinese adversative conjunctions and proposes teaching suggestions.The first chapter is the introduction that briefly introduces the research purpose,object and methods,predecessor’s researches on Chinese and Japanese adversative conjunctions and sources of corpus.The second chapter is a comparative analysis of the adversative conjunctions between Chinese and Japanese.This paper introduces Chinese and Japanese adversative conjunctions,analyzes the semantics,connection functions and pragmatic functions,and compares their similarities and differences.The study found that there are more Chinese semantics corresponding to Japanese adversative conjunctions.Secondly,Japanese adversative conjunctions can be at the beginning or end of a sentence,while Chinese adversative conjunctions cannot be at the end of a sentence.Again,Japanese adversative conjunctions can express some emotions like dissatisfaction or remorse,but Chinese can’t.The third chapter analyzes the corpus of Japanese students in HSK and summarizes the types of errors,mainly "misuse,mistaken addition,omission".The fourth chapter discusses the reasons for the bias of foreign students on the basis of comparison.It may be the negative transfer of the mother tongue,the complexity of the target language itself and the negative learning strategy.At the end this paper proposes some corresponding suggestions,includes attaching importance to ontology difference,strengthening the contrast teaching between Chinese and Japanese adversative conjunctions and focus on the diversity of practice.
