This paper combines synchronic and diachronic, descriptive and explanatory methods, aiming at comprehensively studying on "jinyibu" and its related structures in modern Chinese in detail. And there are five parts in this paper. The beginning and the end are introduction and conclusion respectively. The second, third and fourth chapters are the main chapters.Their main contents can be summarized as follows:Chapter two analyses the "jinyibu" and its related structures from three aspects: semantics, syntax and pragmatics.Semantically,"jinyibu" can express the meaning of limb movements, the progress or advance, the deepening of degree and progressive relevance.Syntactically,"jinyibu" has abundant syntactic functions, such as predicate, attributive, adverbial and acting as extrasentence components, but adverbial has obvious advantages.Pragmatically,"jinyibu" and "jinyibushuo" are progressive discourse markers with emphasis and marking functions.Chapter three explores the diachronic evolution track and motivation of "jinyibu" and its related structures from a diachronic perspective. It was observed that the meaning of "jinyibu" limb movement appeared in the Six Dynasties, the progress or advance meaning and the degree deepening meaning of "jinyibu" appeared in the Song Dynasty, and the progressive meaning of relevance appeared in the Qing Dynasty. From action meaning to progress or advance meaning and to degree deepening meaning is a lexicalization process, from degree deepening meaning to progressive relevance meaning is a grammaticalization process, and metaphor play an important role in the two processes. The situation of synchronic level is justified and explained reasonably at the diachronic level.Chapter four mainly answers the question whether the "jin/tuiyibu" and its related structures are highly symmetrical both diachronically and synchronically.Although they have high symmetry, the difference is the focus of this chapter: "tuiyibu" has the form of "tuiyiwanbushuo/xiang".And its predominant syntactic function is the function of extra-sentence components, while the predominant function of "jinyibu" is the adverbial function. The diachronic differences between the two are manifested in the emergence of "jinybiushuo" in the Qing Dynasty, and the emergence of "tuiyibushuo" in the Republic of China.
