Lolita is a unique existence in the history of world literature and the most successful novel of Vladimir Nabokov. It is recognized as one of the most influential and controversial novels in the 20 th century because of its sensitive story content and novel writing style.Lolita tells a love story between Professor Humbert and Lolita,a rebellious teenager,in the form of confession from the prisoner. The main characters in the novel live in an absurd world. They all have obvious personality defects and psychological abnormalities, which ultimately lead to their tragedies.Human nature is the eternal theme of literary works.Classical literary works are essentially explorations and reflections on human nature. This paper mainly uses Jean-Paul Sartre's existentialist literary theory and Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis theory to interpret the typical characters in Lolita, and explores the "human nature struggle" in the novel. The struggle of human nature has its internal and external reasons, its instinctive and non-instinctive manifestations. The evolution and development of human beings have gone through a long historical period. The formation of human nature is influenced by many factors, such as natural environment, social environment and cultural atmosphere. The human nature formed in this process is imperfect, full of defects, and even paranoid. In Lolita,Mrs.Haze's selfishness,Lolita's greed and vanity,Humbert's desire and jealousy fully reflect this characteristic of human nature.Mrs.Haze's revenge and death,Lolita's escape and freedom, and Humbert's final confession and death are all the true portrayals of human struggle in the novel. After experiencing their own suffering in life, people have produced different degrees of human awakening. At the end of this paper, the awakening of human nature is discussed, and the influencing factors of the awakening of human nature are discussed.Through the analysis of the main characters' human nature disputes and the transformation of human nature awakening, this paper tries to arouse readers' deep thinking about the truth and falsity of human nature, and how to awaken from the dark human nature.
