Fuping Old Town Protection Research From The Perspective Of Cultural Identity

With the development of urbanization,the modernization of the city and the rise of the large-scale old city reconstruction movement have caused the traditional texture and pattern of many ancient cities to be seriously damaged.The places and cultural characteristics that carry people's collective memory gradually disappeared.The popularization and similarization of the face gradually changed,and the community life also became lack of human touch.This caused many ancient cities to face crisis of cracked historical context and poor resident cultural identity.At present,most studies on the protection of ancient cities only pay attention to the protection of material space,while ignoring the people who create urban characteristics andactivities.The human characteristics of the ancient city show that as the main body of the ancient city,human create cultures,and culture will give the local spirit.Therefore,people's needs,people's attitudes and people's role should be the key to the protection of the ancient city.The Valletta Principles is the latest and most important international charter on the protection of historical towns and urban areas.It proposes that historical city protection has an inseparable relationship with human survival and development,while emphasizing the establishment of the spirit of the place and keeping cultural identity.From the perspective of residents' cultural identity,this paper constructs the factors influencing residents' cultural identity in the ancient city from three aspects: cognition,emotion and behavior.At the same time,taking Fuping Old Town as an example,through in-depth interviews,observation methods and questionnaires,we obtain the content of residents' influence on cultural identity in cognitive,emotional and behavioral aspects,and conduct inductive analysis to summarize the problems and causes faced by Fuping Old Town.At last,the paper puts forward some strategies to promote residents' cultural identity,such as the protection of memory sites,the repair of social network relations,the improvement of infrastructure and living environment,and the strengthening of residents' community participation.It is hoped that the protection of the ancient city in the future can be people-oriented,promote the cultural identity of residents,and better promote the protection and development of the ancient city.
