As we all know, during 1933-1945,the Nazi Germany carried out a series of anti-Semitism activities, which led Jews in Germany and other European countries to seek for shelters around the world.Owing to the vast territory and sparse population, when European countries tighten their immigration policies,Jewish refugees turn their attention to Australia.Facing the large number of refugees,in the context of the domestic economic depression, the emergence of anti-Semitism groups, and the different views of Australians about Jewish refugees, the Government of Australia combined with the international situation, and in the influence of Britain and the United States, its attitude about Jewish refugees has undergone a process of development,at first the government put strict restriction on refugees, afterwards it gradually let down the requirements of personnel and funding for Jewish refugee landing, eventually it granted Jewish refugees a fixed landing quota.During1933-1945,there were approximately 8,600 Jewish refugees arrived in Australia. These Jewish refugees were mainly resettled by the Australian Jewish organizations. In order to avoid arousing the anti-Semitism movement,as soon as the Jewish refugees arrived to Australia, the institutions began to arranged them and help them find jobs. With the outbreak of the Second World War,the Jewish refugees was treated as enemy aliens, and the Australian government took special measures on them. These Jewish refugees who came to Australia during 1933-1945,despite had difficulties in employment, while they still re-started their new life in Australia, and they also made contributions to Australian's economic, cultural, education and other fields. As can be seen, thegovernment and society of Australia accepted the Jewish refugees and offered help to them from 1933 to 1945,these activities laid a foundation for Australia to meet the new wave of immigrants after the Second World War and to transform itself into a nation of immigrants.furthermore,in the process of Jewish refugees immigration, the Jews of Australia also further recognized themselves and improved their own community structure, made the Jewish community more mature and full of energy.
