Research On The Repatriation Of Overseas Chinese Refugees After World War Ⅱ(1945-1949)

During the Second World War,overseas Chinese diaspora became refugees because of being implicated in the war.Some overseas Chinese returned to China to seek refuge,while others stayed overseas and were persecuted by the Japanese army.The returned overseas Chinese refugees were eager to return to the original residence for reviving their business.While the refugees in overseas wished to return to China.At the same time.Nanyang Volunteer Drivers and Machinists and Taiwanese overseas Chinese are also waiting to be repatriated.The issue of post-war refugees also appeared in various parts of the world.The relief and repatriation of refugees became the common responsibility of all human beings.The United Nations specially established the Relief and Rehabilitation Administration and the International Refugee Organization to help refugees.In China,the National Relief and Rehabilitation Administration,the Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission,and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also prepared for the rescue of the overseas Chinese refugees.As part of the post-war international refugee community.overseas Chinese refugees have received help from the international community and the care of the National Government.The cooperated with each other to solve the obstacles in diplomacy and traffic that have emerged during the repatriation of the hard-to-finish overseas Chinese and achieved remarkable results.However,due to the influence of post-war Southeast Asia’s exclusionism,the limitations of international organizations,and the problems of the Nationalist Party itself,the work of repatriation overseas Chinese was wasted.In the final analysis,the interweaving of civil war and the Cold War in the early postwar period was the root cause of the failure to complete this humanitarian work.
