Throughout the world's developed countries,in the second half of the 20 th century,the establishment of its image is certainly related to the strength of national power,but the use of design as a boost to promote and strengthen the country's strength and its style can be seen.For the embodiment of good strategy and wisdom.The state uses the material culture of design to build identity and communicate this identity to the people and the world.The way this kind of communication was very complicated in the early days,but it became clear during the First World War.Using the artifacts and images of the design as a means to express themselves and try to persuade others to believe or expect their outstanding position in economic,political,technical or cultural.There are two main strategies for linking material culture and national identity: one is to review the craft traditions and then re-examine them with the present vision;the other is to be happy with the future and develop a plan for “arts applied to industry”.To provide new forms and modern identities suitable for the machine age.Since the reform and opening up to the beginning of this century,China's national strength has grown stronger.At this time,the reshaping of the national image has become a must for the Chinese government.The occurrence of major events in many countries has given China's design opportunities to grow in practice,and at the same time,it has made the government aware of the importance of design to the country.This article takes the design exhibition as the research subject and the national image as the research object.The overall idea of the paper is problem-oriented and proposes solutions through research.The study of Chinese design exhibitions cannot truly display the national image.The first part is to find out that the lack of aesthetics,lack of modernization and lack of representation of design exhibitions is the main reason that influences the design exhibition to shape the national image.The second part is to study the typical case of the successful design of the country by design exhibition in other countries in the history of design,to demonstrate the feasibility analysis of the design exhibition to shape the national image,and to provide experience for the Chinese design exhibition to shape the national image.The third part of the thesis is to study how the daily life of the people becomes a modern life culture style,and then enter the design exhibition and become an important component of the display of the national image.It is emphasized that the Chinese design exhibition should grasp the concept and method of “presence in the field” and form a unique way to design the exhibition to spread the image of the country.In the last part,according to the research results of the previous three parts,it is clear that the design exhibition is to shape the national image through a reasonable "imagination".And put forward the evaluation method of designing the exhibition to shape the national image--determining the success of the design exhibition with the interconnected value.The Chinese design exhibition,which is the driving force behind the state's power,should unite the development of its own mechanism with the shaping of the country's image,and occupy China's highland in the next round of international competition.
