The English Curriculum Standard clearly points out that in the process of teaching,teachers should constantly stimulate and strengthen students’ interest in English learning,and guide them to gradually turn their interest in English learning into stable learning motivation,so as to build up their self-confidence and improve their English learning effect.Therefore,learning motivation is an important factor affecting the English learning effect of senior high school students.However,the author finds from the literature that there is no relevant research on the learning motivation of senior high school students in China.Therefore,in order to stimulate the learning motivation of senior high school students,the author takes senior high school students of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology High School as the research object,through questionnaires and interviews,aiming at answering three questions:(1)Understanding the current situation of senior high school students’ English learning motivation;(2)Comparing the differences of English learning motivation of students in different classes;(3)Propose strategies to stimulate students’ motivation to learn English.Through detailed research data on relevant learning factors,it is finally determined that the motivation of senior high school students in English learning is ranked from low to high,which includes motivation of going abroad,motivation of situational learning,motivation of responsibility learning,motivation of information development,motivation of personal development,motivation of interest learning and motivation of achievement learning.At the same time,the interview method is used to communicate with students,and students know that English teachers play a decisive role in their own performance.High school students like teachers with affinity and high knowledge literacy and a pleasant classroom atmosphere.Through the systematic analysis of the survey and interview results,the author obtains some teaching strategies for middle school students’ English learning: English teachers should establish good teacher-student relationship;give full play to the role of teachers as role of models;weaken the motivation of students’ English learning by examinations;motivate students’ English learning by combining students’ development;provide more English information and motivate students’ English learning activities.According to the gender characteristics of students,motivation for English learning should be motivated.Reasonable use of these teaching strategies canmaximize the motivation of middle school students in future teaching activities. |
