Fintech is an innovative financial technology which enterprises use to provide more efficient and higher-quality services, which gradually becomes a hotspot within the financial market.Fintech not only helps optimize all aspects of the traditional finance realm in a more intelligent way but also helps bring cost reduction and efficiency improvements to the finance market.Fintech revolves around intelligence and is guided by production research, customer feelings, and market demand. The interpreter chooses a relevant annual finance conference as the interpreting object.During this conference, several famous entrepreneurs, including William Hurley,Jere Doyle,Larry Restieri,Adam Broun, share their experiences about their startups and views towards the prospects of the Fintech market. This thesis focuses on the report of the simulated interpreting practice of the Fintech panel at Boston College 12th Annual Finance Conference 2017 from the perspective of Interpretive Theory.During this simulated interpreting, the interpreter comes across many difficulties in terms of handling financial terminology, grasping the speakers'key points, and overcoming non-textual disturbances, etc. This report focuses on the case analysis under the guidance of Interpreting Theory. The three concepts of Interpretive Theory, namely comprehension, deverbalisation and expression, are primary procedures that the interpreter follows while interpreting the target audio and performing case analysis. The interpreter classifies all current difficulties in Chapter 3:intensive financial terminology and related financial background, long and complicated sentences, speakers' logic, voice and speed, and non-textual disturbances.Under the guidance of Interpreting Theory, the interpreter selects three main solutions for solving these difficulties, namely syntactic linearity, omission, conversion.By using these three solutions, the interpreter eventually succeeds in completing this simulated interpretation. Finally, the interpreter makes a conclusion towards this interpreting and proposes her limitations. The interpreter hopes that this report will be of some help for those who are interpreting learners.
