A Report On The Simulated Consecutive Interpreting Of "After The Glass Ceiling,the Glass Cliff"

As one of the latest media to emerge into the mainstream and one of the forefront technologies,podcast has been used to people around the world to obtain information.Interpreters and translators who are supposed to make information exchanges or mutual learning more smooth,shoulder great responsibilities towards people who are not bilingual.This report conducted a task report of "After the Glass Ceiling,the Glass Cliff"from podcast Freakonomics,explored the possible difficulties and came up with strategies and conclusions under the guidance of Christina Nord's text analysis model.The task has concise but informed dialogue,fast turn-taking and wide topic coverage,is a typical interview podcast program.The major difficulties include a multitude of financial terms,background knowledge and rapid turn-taking.The interpreter applied reconstruction,explanation,omission etc.under the guidance of text analysis model to solve the difficulties and optimize the interpretation.This report studied a case of podcast interpreting,and it is hoped that this report can provide some insights into this field.
