| Recently,as the new mode of the college entrance exam and the new English curriculum standard carried out through the whole country,students are required to have a larger amount of English vocabulary.Some experts and scholars have been exploring various of vocabulary teaching methods,one of which is the context based vocabulary teaching theory that more and more teachers prefer to employ in their vocabulary teaching work.Vocabulary is an important and also difficult part in English learning.In order to solve the problem and search for a proper vocabulary learning strategy,The author will do her experience on the freshmen in her working school for a term and two of my teaching classes will be chosen as the objects classes-the experiment class and the control class.In the experiment class,the author will choose the context based vocabulary teaching method,while in the control class,the author still use the traditional vocabulary teaching method.The experiment will last for the whole semester and comparison of the vocabulary learning outcome will be made between the two classes so as to discuss the influence of the context theory on vocabulary teaching and learning and how to apply context theories into vocabulary teaching and learning.The research will cover three parts:First,it will analyze and summarize the basic ideas,main elements and forms of the context based teaching method.Second,the author will employ different teaching methods in the two classes.When teaching words,the context based teaching method will be used in the experimental class,while the traditional teaching method will be used in the control class.Third,at the end of this semester,the author will convey a quiz to check the outcome of vocabulary learning,which will be used to explore the effects the context theory may have on the students’vocabulary level and the problems it may exist in senior English vocabulary teaching.Based on the research,the author have got the following conclusions:First,Compared with the traditional vocabulary teaching methods,the context based vocabulary teaching method has its advantages on improving students’ vocabulary level and learning interest.Second,The context based teaching method has different impacts on different students.This paper will analyze the reasons and problems of the application of the context based teaching method in our school and come up with some improvement measures on the bases of the experimental outcomes so as to reference and advice for the improvement and development of the further senior English vocabulary teaching. |
