With a 3-month's teaching experiment on the fresh students of Gangdu Senior High School,this paper is to find out whether "Sentence drilling" can effectively promote the writing performance of the average students in this school.This paper is based on "The Monitor Hypothesis",guided by motivation strategies and task-based teaching method,which are put into practice in the daily teaching during the experiment.The author uses Documentary Analysis to summarize the concepts given by the other researchers,and then apply them to the "previous" "in"and"post" periods of the-experiment With interview method,questionnaire method and examination paper analysis,the author collects abundant data which is ananlyzed with the help of SPSS software in order to investigate the results of the experiment and to judge the effectiveness of "Sentence drilling method".The paper aims to provide some meaningful references for the after researchers,trying to prove that some traditional teaching method can be improved to assist modern English teaching instead of being abandoned without a second thought.
