| With the rapid development of China’s economy and the widespread spread of culture,the craze for learning Chinese has begun to appear on a global scale.Since the establishment of the world’s first Confucius Institute in South Korea in November 2004,most countries and regions around the world have started to offer Chinese language classes and establish Chinese teaching points.According to the data provided by the 13th Confucius Institute,China has established 548 Confucius Institutes and 1,193 Confucius Classrooms in 154 countries and regions,with a total of 1.87 million students.Since the official establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Costa Rica on June 7,2007,Chinese teaching has developed rapidly in Costa Rica,opening up a new situation in the development of Chinese in Costa Rica.More and more people are learning Chinese,speaking Mandarin,and understanding China..After the Sino-Ghetto Cultural Education Center cooperated with the Ministry of Education of Costa Rica to carry out Chinese language courses in public schools,Chinese was more widely disseminated in Costa Rica.In this paper,through the observation method,interview method and questionnaire survey method,the Chinese students of 10 public schools in Costa Rica have been studied,mainly from the school infrastructure conditions,teacher strength,curriculum,teaching materials and learners.In this regard,it analyzes the current situation of Chinese teaching in Costa Rican public schools,and what problems exist,and proposes corresponding solutions based on existing problems,so as to facilitate the long-term development of Chinese teaching in Costa Rica public schools. |
