During the period of Proto-industrialisation,English rural industry developed greatly.The representative of the English rural industry is the textile industry and the modes of industrial organization is mainly the Domestic System.This paper discusses the emergence,development and decline of the Domestic System,and outlines the outline of domestic system by taking the region as the core.Domestic system can be divided into the Kaufsystem and Verlagsystem.The first chapter mainly discusses the rise of the Domestic System,expounds the rise of textile industry in the countryside and the spread of domestic system in the countryside.In my opinion,means of production and technical requirements,market demand,cheap labor and government assistance constitute the economic and social foundation for the formation of domestic system.There are similarities and differences between the domestic system and the guild system.The second and third chapters discuss two different forms of domestic system.The second chapter discusses the Kaufsystem,which is the form of small producers buying raw materials from merchants,producing at home and selling products,mainly popular in Yorkshire and Lancashire.This chapter expounds the formation and characteristics of Kaufsystem and its advantages.Because of the change of capital requirement and land system,the Kaufsystem could be transformed into the Verlagsystem.The third chapter discusses the Verlagsystem.which refers to the form in which merchant employers provide materials and pay wages to works,and workers produce at home,which was more common in England.This chapter expounds the two formation ways.characteristics and changes of the Verlagsystem.and analyzes its advantages and disadvantages.The fourth chapter analyzes the decline of domestic system and its influence.The rose of the factory system led to the decline of the domestic system.Domestic system promoted the disintegration of traditional small-scale peasant economy and the development of wage labor,which had a beneficial impact on the English rural economy.The domestic system cultivated inventors and entrepreneurs and accumulated capital for the Industrial Revolution.The rise and fall of domestic system reflects the change of modes of industrial organization in England,and the essence of domestic system is that commercial capital dominates industrial production.It met the needs of industrial development in the transitional period of England and was the main route to achieve a big increase in English textiles.As a transitional stage between guild system and factory system,it played a great transitional role in history.
