Research On The Transformation Of Narrative Perspective In Novels

Although the emergence of narratology is a little later than other schools,its theoretical research does not fall behind.It has raised many hot spots of theoretical research,such as unreliable narrators,narrative grammar,and so on.As one of the hot spots in the study of narratology,narrative perspective has attracted great attention since its inception.In the creation of novels,writers have noticed that the transformation of narrative perspective plays a very important role.This is related to the creation of early novels.At the beginning of the novel creation,the narrative perspective is often single,usually from the third-person omniscient perspective.However,the pure perspective of god can no longer meet the needs of novel creation.Therefore,writers began to frequently change the narrative perspective in novels,which undoubtedly brought new vitality to the novel.To define the type of conversion of narrative perspective,it is necessary to classify the narrative perspective.In this paper,the narrative perspective is divided into three categories according to the relationship between the narrator and the story,what the narrator knows,and the type of the narrator's commitment: the first person,the second person,and the third person.Omniscient perspective and limited knowledge perspective;Inhuman perspective.The research on the transformation of narrative perspective starts with the innovation of novel creation,which is divided into internal reasons and external reasons.Both of them are derived from the two turns of theoretical research,the former from the study of writers to the study of readers,the latter from the study of authors to the study of text,under this background,the practice and theoretical research of narrative perspective transformation has been greatly supplemented.Narratologists have found that,under the pen of different writers,there are different types of narrative perspective transformation.This paper believes that these types can be divided into formal transformation and non-formal transformation.Conversion in the formal sense mainly refers to the inclusion of different narrative perspectives in the same work,such as the inclusion of both the third-person omniscient perspective and the first-person know-it-all perspective.Transformation in the informal sense means that although the narrative perspective belongs to the same type,the perspective bearers are different.These two transformations also bring manyeffects to the text.Including rhetorical effects and the call to the reader.
