A Project Report On Translation Of Antimicrobial Peptides As An Alternative To Anti-tuberculosis Drugs

This paper is a translation project report from English to Chinese.The selected translation material is medical literature from the Sciences Direct of Elsevier.The original text is about the antimicrobial peptides as an alternative to anti-tuberculosis drugs.This literature collected the latest studies in this medical field,which can provide full information about the current situation of tuberculosis treatment for medical scholars or students.The author hopes this report will be beneficial to medical literature translators though the study on the translation strategies of this literature.This translation project belongs to scientific and technological text involving a lot of relevant medical background knowledge,which is kind of hard to understand.Under the guidance of Skopos theory,this paper will adopt different translation strategies,such as literal or free translation in the translation of medical terms.For sentences,translation skills such as translation of passive voice,order adjustment,amplification,and division are adopted to ensure the faithfulness and smoothness of the target translation.It is hoped that the translation methods proposed in this project report for typical translation cases can provide references for translators in this field.
