Study On Bai Shouyi's Thoughts Of Historical Education

Mr.Bai Shouyi was a famous historian,educator and social activist in China.He gradually formed a unique historical education concept during the long-term history research and the practice of history teaching in colleges and universities.He held the view that historical education is an embodiment of the social function of historiography and a branch of historiography.His thought of historical education was based on the broad sense of historical education.Regarding all the social members as the object of historical education,he took the cultivation of "conscious citizens" and "new socialist people" with a sense of history,a sense of the times,and a sense of national pride as the target of historical education.He pointed out two implementation roads of historical education,including common history education and professional history education.The main characteristics of Bai Shouyi's historical education thought were a vast perspective of history education,the focus on the socialization of history education,the concern for the State and the Nation,and the close connection to the characteristics of the times.Mr.Bai Shouyi's thought of historical education greatly enriched the connotation of domestic historical education and also made him one of the important founders of the theory of historical education since the establishment of New China.
