The Study On Alexander Bildau A Nostalgie Western Kaleidoscope Of Chinese Melodies

Alexander Bildau,a famous contemporary German pianist,has been living in China for 20 years.He has been engaged in piano teaching and performance in many universities in China and developed a strong interest in Chinese music culture.A NOSTALGIE WESTERN KALEIDOSCOPE OF CHINESE MELODIES is a piano collection of ten Chinese folk songs created with music as the material,which embodies his love for Chinese folk songs and reflects his creative thought of exploring Oriental folk songs from the western perspective.This article is composed of three chapters.The first chapter briefly introduces the composer's life,the background of the piano composition A NOSTALGIE WESTERN KALEIDOSCOPE OF CHINESE MELODIES and the composer's music creation thought.Chapter two makes a musicology analysis of the ten works in the collection from the ontological level,and makes a comparative study with the original folk songs to discuss the music language and style characteristics of each work,as well as how the composer USES the music material of folk songs for the second creation.The third chapter discusses the composer's creative techniques and the characteristics of music in the whole music collection from six aspects: rhythm and beat,harmonic vocabulary,tonality,melody structure,music term and melody development technique.The fourth chapter summarizes the historical significance of the collection from two aspects: the time style and personal style.
