A Cognitive Study Of Metaphor In Zhang Xichun's Yixue Zhongzhong Canxi Lu

To study the language of traditional Chinese medicine from the perspective of metaphor belongs to the scope of metaphor cognition.In this paper,the metaphor in Zhang Xichun's "Yixue Zhongzhong Canxi Lu in China and Western Record" is taken as the research object,and the related metaphorical expressions are summarized and analyzed,the ways to establish metaphor are discussed,and the characteristics of metaphor construction are summarized and analyzed.In this paper,Zhang Xichun's metaphor is divided into a source domain and a target domain.The source domain is divided into five categories: nature,goods location,human society,actions,characteristics and events.The natural domain accounts for 45% of the whole source domain,followed by the human society domain and goods location domain.The first three kinds of metaphor expressions add up to 210,accounting for 82% of the whole original domain.It can be seen that in Zhang Xichun's metaphor construction,there are many metaphors derived fro m nature,place of goods and human society,accounting for the main position.These three types can be summarized as the external world outside the human body.This is related to the cognitive thinking of "correspondence between man and nature" in traditio nal Chinese medicine and is a familiar category in people's existing experience.The interior of the target area is divided into three categories: human body,drug prescription and diseases,which account for 47%,15% and 38% of the total number of target areas respectively.Therefore,the objects of TCM research are mainly human body and diseases.The human body is recognized through the discussion of viscera,organs,meridians and acupoints of human body,and diseases are recognized through the analysis of disease symptoms and the discussion of treatment methods.This paper explores the foundation of it's metaphor establishment and summarizes the characteristics of Zhang Xichun's metaphor expression.It is found that he prefers the construction of war metaphor,container metaphor and pipeline metaphor.There are many types of action metaphor,the corresponding target domain elements are diversified,and the connotation of metaphor is rich.Zhang Xichun has made more comparisons and compatibility between Chinese and western medicines.Among them,45 cases were described about the drug properties of western medicines,and only 5 cases,accounting for 11% of the total drug properties of western medicines,were described from the perspective of drug properties and taste.Although he advocated to use Chinese medicine to refer to western medicine,the pure Chinese medicine theory was not used to explain the proportion of western medicine,which indicated that the degree of western medicine in his mind was still relatively low and still had certain limitations.There were 11 cases of compatibility of Chinese and western medicines,accounting for 58% of the comparison between Chinese and western medicines,which reflected his efforts in the integration of Chinese and western medicines.When he used traditional Chinese medicine to explain western medicine,he combined the traditional theory of traditional Chinese medicine,and applied the five elements of the relationship between birth and restriction,the way of seeking the same qi and the principle of family similarity,with obvious metaphorical cognitive thinking characteristics.Zhang Xichun's original intention in writing this book was: "Chinese medicine is the body and western medicine is the use." In order to integrate traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine with traditional cognitive thinking,Zhang Xichun has used various methods of comparison between traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine to integrate western medicine.He has made many attempts and efforts and has also achieved certain results.However,due to the special historical background,his understanding of western medicine was at a relatively shallow stage at that time.He used traditional theories of Chinese medicine to explain western medicine.This paper uses the theory of metaphor cognition to explain and analyze Zhang Xichun's way of integrating traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine,trying to use new theories to explain the confusion of predecessors.Due to my limited level,my understanding of relevant theories is not deep enough,so there are still many deficiencies and needs to be improved.
