The Utopian Imagination In Zhang Wei's Novels

This thesis takes the utopian imagination in Zhang Wei's novels as the object,focusing on the complex change of the utopian imagination in Zhang Wei's novels.The thesis consists of three parts:The first part is about the different forms of utopian imagination in Zhang Wei's novels.Make a comprehensive survey of the Zhang Wei's creation,we can divide the utopian imagination in Zhang Wei's novels into four forms : The beautiful countryside of the “LuQinghe”,the pastoral dreams in the Vineyards,the utopian imagination in the Wild,and the pursuit of the ultimate paradise of life in the Plateau.“LuQinghe” is an important landmark in Zhang Wei's novels,he used all his enthusiasm to write about the fertile soil and the simple humanity cultivated by the river.But the river of childhood turned into a river of adulthood.From the “Utopia of Morality” in “Ancient Ships”,“Natural Utopia” in “Fables of September”,“Bai Hui” and other works,to the pursuit of “plateau” in “You are on the highland”,the Utopia imagination in Zhang Wei's novels is changing.The second part is about the “moral utopia” and “natural utopia” in Zhang Wei's novels.Because Zhang Wei born in the Jiaodong Peninsula in Shandong Province and Shandong is not only an important source of Confucian culture,but also an important source of Taoist culture.The influence of multiple cultures has made his utopian imagination a diversity of features.Moreover,both Confucianism and Taoism have imaginations of the future society.For example,the Confucian “Datong Society” and the Taoist “small country and the widowed society”,which are typical Utopian ideas in Chinese traditional society.Zhang Wei was influenced by these two kinds of thoughts,and also showed a corresponding tendency in his utopian imagination.The third part is about the relationship between “local” and “urban”in Zhang Wei's novels.Utopia image has a very close relationship with the image of the city since its inception,and Zhang Wei's attitude towards urban and rural civilization is also very complicated.The imagination of natural utopia in Zhang Wei's works makes his novels show the characteristics of being close to the countryside,alienation the city.From “LuQinghe told me” to “Looking for the King of Fishing”,the countryside has always been the protagonist of Zhang Wei's works.In the “LuQinghe” period,the city is a supporting role in the novels,but with the development of “urban civilization”,a series of problems raised by the city caused people to disillusion the city.The increasingly intensified urban-rural contradictions,the development of cities and the fall of morality have given Zhang Wei's Utopia a new criticism.From criticizing the old rural society to the fallen urban society,the Utopia world in Zhang Wei's novels has a new vitality.
