Modality adverbs "Bixu" " Wubi" "Yiding" are a group of words which are frequently used in Chinese,and are also one of the grammatical points where foreign students are prone to errors.This paper studies the noumenon of the modality adverbs "Bixu" " Wubi" "Yiding" and the errors in the use of them by foreign students by means of corpus analysis and comparative study,and puts forward corresponding teaching countermeasures,hoping to provide reference and help for foreign students and teaching Chinese as a second language.The whole thesis contains five sections.Chapter one is introduction.This paper mainly explains the reasons for choosing the topic and the source of the corpus,introduces the research results of " must","must" and " certain" by former sages,and points out its shortcomings.Chapter two mainly makes a comparative analysis of the mood adverbs " must"," must" and " must" from the semantic,syntactic and pragmatic levels.Chapter three explores the types of errors that occur when foreign students acquire Chinese " must"," must" and " must",and analyzes the causes of errors from multiple dimensions.Chapter four aiming at the error situation of foreign students,puts forward relevant suggestions on how students learn and how teachers teach.Chapter five is the conclusion.Summing up the main contents of the full text and pointing out the shortcomings of the article.Through the research,the author found that in terms of semantics,the tone of "Wubi" and " Yiding" is richer.Syntactically,The position of " Bixu" and " Yiding" in the sentence is more flexible than " Wubi",and the collocation with the negative word " no" and person is also different.the three words all reflect a certain power and intimacy.The word " must" cannot be used in interrogative sentences,while the word " Bixu" cannot be widely used in " please" sentences.Therefore,foreign students often make semantic,syntactic and pragmatic errors in learning these three words due to subjective and objective factors.According tothis,the author puts forward some targeted suggestions for foreign students and teachers,such as: correctly using the transfer function of language and strengthening communicative exercises;Contrastive teaching,situational teaching,emphasis on error correction training,etc.
