Research On Xunzi's Thought Of "Tonglei"

In ancient times,"Tong Lei" was often interpreted as outlines and regulations,but this interpretation could not fully reveal its profound implications in "Xunzi".In Xunzi's "Tong Lei" was more manifested as an important way of thinking and ideas.Starting from the text,"Tong Lei" is directly related to the code of etiquette and law that Xunzi values.But after thinking deeply about "Tong Lei ",we find that this is Xunzi's thinking and application of human reason,because both "Tong" and "Lei" need people to understand and grasp the "rationality" contained in things.Specifically,"Lei" embodies the understanding and grasp of the rationale of a kind of things,and "Tong" is more embodied in the grasp of the more abstract rationale of the rationale of controlling all kinds of things.According to the "Tong Lei",we can have a deeper understanding and recognition of the "Li Yi Zhi Tong" that Xunzi said.Xunzi's so-called unification of etiquette and righteousness not only refers to the various rules left over by the saints of the past dynasties after the gains and losses of the reform,but also refers to the general principles and categories of these rules.In the specific process of learning the sacred king's rites and laws,scholars can make progress from ordinary people to scholars,gentlemen and even saints by learning specific rules and regulations and further exploring the righteousness of them,that is,the deepening of the thinking of "Tong Lei".The basis of Xunzi's thinking of "Tong Lei" lies in his belief that the human mind has three functions of "Xu","Yi" and "Jing".These three functions correspond to the operation of "Tong Lei".The human mind can know "Tao" and "knowledge of unification" according to "Xu","Yi" and "Jing".There is a certain relationship between "Zhi Tong Tong Lei" and "Zhi Tong Hu Da Tao",from which we can further understand the true connotation and significance of Xunzi's benevolent and wise way of "Tong Lei".
