The English Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017 edition)points out that "using modern educational technology to broaden the channels for students to learn and apply English:that is,teachers should reasonably develop and utilize radio and television,English newspapers,libraries and networks and other resources to create conditions for students to learn independently,if conditions permit." Therefore,it is imperative to develop various resources to assist English teaching.Among them,TED resources are rich in topics and unique in content.Students can input a large number of advanced vocabulary while imitating pronunciation and intonation to improve their oral English.In addition,as an Internet resource,TED resources specially construct an educational and teaching platform to facilitate students’ autonomous learning,highlight the "individuality" of learning,and help to achieve the goal of oral English teaching.The purpose of this study is to explore whether TED resources are conducive to the improvement of oral English teaching in senior high schools by designing the application of TED-based oral English teaching in classroom teaching.Firstly,through literature review and on-the-spot investigation,the present situation of spoken English teaching is understood.On this basis,the application status of TED resources is investigated.It is found that teachers seldom use TED resources,and students only know TED resources from the level of hearing.These investigations have laid a foundation for my research.Secondly,based on the theoretical basis and design concept of TED resource application in senior high school oral English teaching,the design of senior high school oral English teaching cases based on TED resource has maintained three months of practice in classroom teaching.Finally,through the analysis of questionnaires,interviews and oral performance tests,this paper explores the advantages and disadvantages of TED resources in oral English teaching,and provides guidance for future teaching.This study chooses two parallel classes in Senior Two of Yinchuan A Middle School as the research object.In the course of the study,the classroom teaching practice is maintained for three months according to the designed teaching examples.Finally,the effect of TED resources in oral English teaching is analyzed through the comparison of questionnaire,interview and oral test.Based on the relevant data,it is concluded that TED resources are indeed helpful to improve the level of oral English teaching in senior high schools to a certain extent,and are valuable network resources in oral English teaching.In the era of Internet education,teachers should learn to tap resources,make use of resources,give full play to the advantages of the times,and strive to be a qualified modern educator.
