An Exploration Of Cultural Teaching Content And Strategies In Senior High English Teaching

With the implementation of the "General Senior High School English Curriculum Standards" promulgated in 2017,the concept of cultural awareness and cultural teaching is gradually deepening into the middle school English classroom.Culture and language are inseparable.To successfully achieve the purpose of English teaching,cultural teaching and language teaching must be organically combined.Foreign language teaching should not only introduce language knowledge,but also train language skills.Foreign language teachers should put this kind of learning and training into the background of cultural teaching,let students understand and understand the culture of the language they learn,and finally make students have pragmatic competence.Infiltrating cultural knowledge in high school English classes and cultivating students' good cultural awareness can not only help students better understand the language they learn,but also improve their humanistic qualities,broaden their international horizons,and stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning.Let them feel the richness of learning languages.Therefore,in order to successfully achieve the purpose of English teaching,it is necessary to combine cultural teaching with language teaching,cultivate students'cultural awareness,and improve students' intercultural communication ability.This paper proves the necessity of strengthening the teaching of English culture in high school by interpreting the correlation between culture and language,the teaching situation of culture at home and abroad,and analyzing the intercultural communication ability and the status of cultural teaching and the teaching situation of teachers through high school students.Therefore,the author puts forward the teaching content and some corresponding strategies for how to implement cultural teaching under the existing circumstances,and strives to make English teaching more effective and efficient in cultivating students'cultural awareness and improving students' intercultural communication ability.
