Henri Lefebvre is one of the representative figures of French neo-Marxism,known as "the father of the critical theory of daily life".The reason is that he interprets modem capitalism through Marx’s "alienation" theory and finally realizes the overall goal of "free and comprehensive development of people".This paper analyzes Lefebvre’s critical theory of daily life,interprets his way of redeeming modem society through his festival"camivalization" theory and "chancee theory,hoping to solve the problems encountered in China’s modernization difficulties.This article is mainly divided into five parts.The introduction part analyzes the origin and research status of the critical theory of daily life.The first chapter examines the social background and theoretical origin of Lefebvre’s critical theory.Lefebvre believes that capitalist society has entered the stage of imperialist monopoly,and modern capitalist countries have controlled political,economic and cultural domination over human beings,which has led to the overall alienation.Marx’s alienation theory and the Lukacs "total human" theory are his theoretical sources.The second chapter defines the concept of "daily life" and introduces his theory "the typical scene of daily life-modern street".Lefebvre hopes to solve the dilemma of modem society through "festival carnival" and "opportunity theory"Then I compares Lefebvre’s critical theory of daily life with Heidegger’s theory of "Daily coexistence" and Heller’s theory of "Daily life".The third chapter rediscovers the works of Charlie Chaplin’s movies and Bertolt Brecht’s dramas in a daily life style from the perspective of Lefebvre’s critical theory.Finally,a brief comment is made on Lefebvre’s critical theory of daily life.Lefebvre’s critical theory of daily life is based on the modern capitalist world and the living conditions of human beings.Its critical theory promotes the transformation of philosophical research objects,broadens the research scope of Marx’s alienation theory,and highlights the humanitarian spirit contained in Marxism.However,his revolution in daily life isn’t a theoretical concept which unfolding in the context of productivity and production relations.It overemphasizes people,s subjective initiative,neglecting objective material conditions,policy and institutional factors and so on,so entered a stalemate.It can be said that his path of realizing social salvation is idealistic and un-practical.This thesis hopes to absorb Lefebvre’s critical theory of daily life,assimilate in his theonetical essence which under the premise of criticism,and discover its theoretical guiding significance to the construction of literary theory and the practice of literary criticism.Lefebvre’s cirtical theory of daily life like a mirror to help us to understand the social forms and daily life conditions from different modem institutional conditions.lt can brodem a academic horizon for cultural construction and literary critique through comparative and critical studies. |
