On Henri Lefebvre’s Critique The-Ory Of Everyday Life And Its Contemporary Value

As an existentialism Marxist,Henry Lefebvre once transformed Marx’s Alienation Theory and extended it to the field of everyday life,then systematically established critique theory of everyday life,which made himself known as the "father of critique theory of everyday life ".The core concept " everyday life" throughout his critique theory of everyday life,and there are obvious differences in the early and late theories.In his early theory,everyday life was a field,full of monotony,repetition and tedious-ness,which is not concerned by people and was alienated by capitalism in all aspects.Lefebvre stressed that people should pay attention to the study of everyday life and criticize it.In the later theory,people’s everyday life had been fully organized into the overall link of production and consump-tion.Meanwhile,people had been in the mire of the " Bureaucratic Society of Controlled Consumption " and could not extricate themselves.At this time,the previous criticism of everyday life on the philosophical level could not solve the problem of modernity,so Lefebvre turned to the per-spective of sociological Modernity Criticism in the field of everyday life.Although modern everyday life was facing more severe situation of alien-ation,Lefebvre still believed that there were factors of self-liberation in this field.Then he proposed the strategy of "total revolution" that was to eliminate the alienation of modern everyday life.Unfortunately,this theory is too idealistic and has obvious Utopian color,which inevitably makes his theory certain limitations.However,it is undeniable that Lefebvre’s theory conforms to the trend of the development of the times,and creates a new field of Marxist research.At the same time,his theory also guides the new perspective of post-modern semiotics research and expands the vision of modernity criticism.In addition,this theory has valuable practical enlight-enment for the development of contemporary Chinese society,which can provide important reference value in promoting the all-round development of human beings,cultivating rational consumption concept and building a socialist harmonious culture.
