| The grid operation in China faces such problems and challenges as unreasonable power generation structure,the development of intermittent energy generation and peak-valley difference,etc.Power storage technologies will make great contribution to solving those problems.Thus the translation of this book is relatively important for supplying an opportunity of learning and sharing to people in relevant areas,which will promote the development of energy storage technologies.The source text is derived from Chapter Two of the book Energy Storage Application Technology that is a translation project of students practice base--Beijing Trans-plus Translation Co.Ltd.,which introduces the working principle and characteristics,key technologies and application of several different energy storage technologies,such as electrochemical energy storage,physical energy storage,electromagnetic energy storage and several new energy storage technologies.Based on Skopos theory,this report focuses on analyzing problems in the translation process and corresponding solutions.The original text is technical text and there are numerous technical terms,many sentences in chronicle style,dynamic languages with many verbs and sentences with active structures.However,English for technical text uses more long complex sentences,passive voice and English can be classified into static language.Therefore,under the guidance of Skopos theory,the translation focuses on the needs of the target readers and their linguistic expressing habits,using mainly three translation techniques:conversion,combination and change of voice.In addition,the figures and tables in source text are mainly edited directly and translated with the help of Adobe Photoshop. |
