Ye Zhaoyan is a famous contemporary Chinese writer.He has been writing since the1980 s and has published more than six million words so far.His novels focus on reality and pay attention to the suffering of the people at the bottom of life.His novels show the tragedy of worldly life and are full of strong tragic consciousness.This thesis takes Ye Zhaoyan’s novels as the research object and starts from the perspective of tragedy consciousness.With the methods of literature research and text close reading,the thesis penetrates into the text of his novels to analyze and summarize the tragic consciousness of Ye Zhaoyan’s novels.This thesis is divided into three parts: introduction,main body and conclusion.The introduction part mainly defines the concepts involved in this thesis and makes a general combing to the current research situation of Ye Zhaoyan’s novels.On the basis of which,the significance and value of this topic is determined.The body part consists of three chapters.The first chapter mainly discusses the connotation of tragic consciousness in Ye Zhaoyan’s novels.In most of his novels,the dilemma of human existence and the desperate resistance of people trying to get rid of it are revealed by writing about the anxiety of material shortage,the dislocation of sexual and ethical relations and death.These constitute the basic connotation of the tragic consciousness of Ye Zhaoyan’s novels.The second chapter discusses how Ye Zhaoyan’s tragic consciousness is expressed in his novels from the perspective of art.Through the ingenious selection of images,the use of special narrative perspectives and the presentation of the "Iceberg" writing style,his novels have well written the hardship of human existence,the helplessness of fatalism and the despair of trying to change their own situations.Ye Zhaoyan expresses his tragic consciousness in his unique way.The third chapter tries to discuss the reasons for the formation of Ye Zhaoyan’s tragic consciousness.The growth of Ye Zhaoyan in his childhood gave him a special perception of life.In addition,the influence of regional culture and the western tragic literary concept cannot be ignored.These are the reasons for the formation of the writer’s tragic consciousness.The conclusion part summarizes and enhances the paper.In a word,Ye Zhaoyan,who is full of compassion,has always been concerned about the universal dilemma of human existence in his novels and trying to find a way to break through the dilemma for human beings.Based on the position of the people,he uses the perspective of the common people to express the worldly suffering.Behind the calm and objective narration,he hides the care and warmth for life.
