For a long time,influenced by the exam-oriented education,the contents of examinations have been the focus of in-class teaching.Although the voice of oral teaching is high,it has not been attached much importance in class.Many teachers can skillfully teach the knowledge points related to teaching materials,but most of them neglect students' communicative competence and lack the necessary oral teaching strategies and methods.Even though some teachers pay attention to oral English teaching,the results are still unsatisfying on the grounds of some limitation.Given this,based on six-step procedure,the author makes a tentative study on six-step ecological class model with the purpose of improving students' communication,interest and confidence of oral English.Therefore,the author conducted the comparative experiment in two parallel classes in Grade Eight.This paper mainly studied two questions:(1)Can six-step ecological class model improve students' oral English expression?(2)Can six-step ecological class model improve students' interest and confidence in oral English learning? Before the experiment,the author distributed 260 questionnaires in Grade Six,Seven and Eight and conducted pre-test of oral English in the two parallel classes.After the experiment,the author interviewed five students from the experimental class and did post-test in the two parallel classes.Through data analysis,the main research findings are achieved.From the aspect of study effect,before the experiment,the difference of T-test in the two classes is not significant.After the experiment,the difference is obviously significant.From the aspect of interest and confidentce,according to the collected questionnaires,we can see that students have less interest and confidence in oral English.Through interview,it is showed that most of students like six-step ecological class model and have great interest and confidence in it.To some extent,this study shows that the six-step ecological class model is feasible for oral English teaching.However,because of the limitation of the author and the limitation of time and space,six-step ecological class model needs to be modified further.The author suggests that the application of the six-step ecological class model can be expanded from oral English to other fields,from one junior high school to the whole city.A complete system of evaluation and a diversified ecological class structure can be established through continuous application.
