Report On Compensation Strategies Applied In The Translation Of The Powerful Attitudes(Excerpt)

The Powerful Attitudes(Excerpt),as a best-seller,written by Michael Murphy,features many briefly short sentences and different figures of speech in them.Containing many stories told about some successful and famous persons,this book is popular with different walks of life.Generally,the translation of this book is a valuable translated version for the study of readability.Translation compensation is always with the translation loss.But it is still required further study(that)whether the compensation strategy has its feasibility in the translation of a bestseller or its effectiveness in improving its readability.This thesis verifies them from annotation,merging,domestication,and amplification.To develop this report completely and sufficiently,the translator analyzes many target sentences as samples.Finally,conclusions are drawn as follows:[1] There is a feasibility of appropriate translation compensation in translating a bestseller;[2] The quality of the target text can be neither improved nor meeting the readers' expectations without any utility of translation compensation strategies.Future study might involve a broader area of research into other stylistic texts in which translation compensation strategies are taken to make up for the translation loss,which stands more realistic in the exchange of different languages and different cultures.
