A Study Of Wang Anshi's Reversal Poems

Wang Anshi is a famous politician,thinker and writer in Chinese history.He is one of the Eight great man in Tang and Song Dynasties.His achievements in poetry can also occupy an important position in the history of Chinese poetry.In his early years,he devoted himself to the formation of the unique features of Song poetry,made many explorations in poetry,and made great contributions for the peak of Song poetry.In his later years,his poetry tended to return to Tang Style which is simple and natural.About his poems,the previous scholars mostly explored from the ideological aspect,and the study of the techniques of poetry was not comprehensive,especially the study of the method of turning over a case.This paper is divided into five parts.The introduction part briefly summarizes the existing research status of Wang Anshi's reverse poems,and introduces the research methods used in this paper.Chapter one gives an overview of the poems of turning over a case.Firstly,it explains reverse poems from it's original meaning to extended meaning,and then enriches its connotation from poetry talks.On the basis of summarizing the definitions of the reverse style in previous studies,this paper attempt to define the Wang Anshi's reverse poems.Secondly,it tease out the evolution process of the reverse poems so that readers can have an overall understanding of the reverse poems.The second chapter introduces the background of the style of case reverse,and analyses why the style of case reverse appeared widely in Song Dynasty from the following three aspects: the atmosphere of attaching importance to literature and books in the whole society of Song Dynasty,the change of imperial examination system from inside to outside,and the help of Buddhist thought.Secondly,it tease out the evolution process of the reverse poems so that readers can have an overall understanding of the reverse poems.Chapter three classifies the poems of Wang Anshi's poems which belong to the reverse poems,and analyses how the poets use the reverse method to write poems from four aspects: the public concept of "reverse",the historical conclusion,the former poetry and the former poetry allusions,more over,this chapter also discusses how the skill develop compared with the previous poets.Chapter four,on the basis of Chapter three,combines the poeticbackground of the Song Dynasty,analyses the reasons why Wang Anshi created the overturned poems and views on the style of poetry at that time.Wang Anshi's reverse poems have certain value and significance in the history of poetry.He does not flip the case rigidly for the purpose of reverse,but uses the method of reverse to express his true views on the national society,historical events and human feelings,and reflects his spirit of seeking innovation in poetry.In order to better explore the significance of Wang Anshi's reverse poems,this paper will conduct a more comprehensive and in-depth discussion on the basis of previous studies.
