Application Of Surrealism In AR Dynamic Illustration With Lowpoly Style

The application of surrealism in illustration has a long history,with the advent of VR era,computer-aided technology has been gradually popularized in illustration creation and has become a normal state.Virtual technology into the illustration has also become a popular trend in illustration design.Augmented Reality(AR),in particular,juxtaposes virtual spatial dimensions on the basis of reality,which coincides with the surrealism.In this work,the Lowpoly Style is used to reflect on and opposites against the previous quasi-physical design,to study the bold attempt of combining surrealism and Augmented Reality in the creation of dynamic digital illustration,it is a design practice based on reality,transcending reality and reflecting on reality.The design report of this paper is mainly divided into three parts:demand investigation,literature theory research and creation process.The first part is the demand research report,which investigates and studies many application cases of surrealism,Lowpoly Style and Augmented Reality technology in the field of visual art,the design relationship among the three is analyzed and explored to seek the feasibility and application requirements of design creation.On the basis of learning from predecessors' design works,combined with my subjective feelings and understanding,I applied it to my own practical creation.The second part is the literature theory report,which elaborates the origin,philosophy and historical background of surrealism,studies the theoretical core of surrealism,Lowpoly Style and Augmented Reality technology,and analyzes the theoretical correlation among the three,so as to serve as the guiding ideology and starting point for later design practice.The third part is the creation process report.Based on the previous research,I designed and created the AR Dynamic Illustration "Dream Traveler".The content originates from three groups of tourist attractions with different geographical environment,cultural customs and historical backgrounds and different customs.Based on its natural landscape and cultural characteristics,the theme content of "Dream Traveler" is abstracted and upgraded with surrealism and Lowpoly Style to form a series of AR Dynamic Illustrations,divided into "Desert","JiangNan","Ocean" three themes,in order to explore the AR Dynamic Illustration in tourism surrounding,cultural and creative products and other fields of development prospects.The creation breaks the single narrative dimension of the traditional illustration,and on the basis of the previous two-dimensional plane illustration,the three-dimensional virtual space is derived.In a dynamic form,the time dimension and interactive function are added to achieve an intuitive and interesting interactive experience between the design and the audience.In the interactive process,the characteristic information of scenic spots is presented in the form of dynamic 3d,which brings a surreal feeling to the audience in the style of low polygon abstraction and generalization.This AR Dynamic Illustration form is bound to bring great commercial application value and development prospect in the mass culture communication.
