This thesis combines perceptual mismatch theory and case study theory to attempt to explore the way of minimizing perceptual mismatch in online Chinese classroom teaching.By taking several representative cases in online Chinese classroom,the paper firstly analyzes pedagogical mismatch,instructional mismatch,communicative mismatch and cultural mismatch.Then it discusses the perception and evaluation of online Chinese classes by teachers and students by conducting questionnaires and interviews.In the end,we propose the mechanism of perceptual mismatch minimizing and some suggestions on Chinese online classroom teaching.This paper is divided into six chapters:The first chapter is the introduction to the research background,research purpose and research methods,which is based on related issues about perceptual mismatch.The second chapter introduces the basic information about the selected online cases and cases in real classroom.The third chapter analyzes online classroom teaching cases from four perspectives:pedagogy,instruction,communication and culture.Specifically,the first section discusses the teaching objectives,content and procedures for the sake of analyzing pedagogical mismatch.The second section investigates instructional mismatch through the instructions provided by teachers and the methods they give the instructions.The third section studies communicative mismatch through interaction between teachers and students,by surveying the amount of interactional modifications,teachers' questions and feedback.The forth section is to analyze the cultural mismatch through the explanation of the relevant cultural knowledge and background introduction.The last section summarizes the analysis of different mismatches and establishes the mechanism of perceptual mismatch minimizing.The fourth chapter uses qualitative and quantitative research methods to systematically analyze questionnaires and interviews.From the perspective of teachers and students,this paper examines the effectiveness and extensiveness of the perceptual mismatch minimizing strategy for online classrooms and traditional real classroom teaching.In the fifth chapter,based on the investigation and analysis of case study and perceptual mismatch minimizing theory,there are some advices on the mechanism of perceptual mismatch minimizing in online Chinese classroom teaching.Firstly,set clear teaching objectives,improve and timely adjust the teaching procedures to minimize pedagogical mismatch.Secondly,provide simple and accurate instructional guidance,and use multimodal teaching methods to minimize instructional mismatch.Thirdly,improve the frequency and quality of interaction in online classroom to satisfy the learner's expression needs to minimize communicative mismatch.Finally,adopt empathy strategy teaching,and enrich the cultural background knowledge for minimizing cultural mismatch.The sixth chapter summarizes the whole paper,points out the innovations and shortcomings of the research,and gives some advice on further research.The innovations of this paper lies in:it proposes the analytical framework and implementation mechanism of perceptual mismatch minimizing strategy.
