Study On The Influence Of Cold And Hot Sense On Facial Expression Recognition Of College Students With Different Attributions

Human’s expression is an external form that expresses emotions.It is an important tool for individuals to convey information and plays a key role in social life and interpersonal communication.Expressions are divided into facial expressions,speech expressions,and body expressions,which are especially important because facial expressions are the most easily observed.From the research of facial expression,many factors affecting facial expression recognition are confirmed.The main factors include experimental materials and individual characteristics,which make the cognitive theory of body gradually gain importance.It has been suggested that there is also a body effect in the process of emotional information processing,and the characteristics of the individual itself will also have a certain impact on the recognition of facial expressions.In the research,the experiment method of recognition-judgment is used to explore the influence of temperature on facial expression recognition of college students with different attribution methods from the above perspective.The method of use is questionnaire method and behavioral experiment method.In Experiment 1,we explored whether the thermal sensation affects facial expression recognition of college students.For the randomly selected undergraduate students of Sichuan Normal University,120(60 male and female),the neutral emotion face presentation program compiled by E-Prime 2.0 was used.Experiment and set up the control group.In Experiment 2,it is discussed whether the sense of cold and heat affects the expression recognition of college students with different attribution methods.The attribution method of self-reported questionnaire(ASQ)compiled by American psychologists Prterson & Seligman et al.For screening,120 subjects(60 internal and external control,male and female)were experimented with the neutral emotion face presentation program prepared by E-Prime 2.0,and the control group was set up.The results of this study are as follows:(1)Subjects whose temperature conditions are warmer than those with cold temperature conditions are more likely to be positive for the judgment of neutral expression pictures.(2)The main temperature effect is significant,the main effect of attribution mode is not significant,and the interaction between temperature and attribution mode is significant.(3)Under the same temperature conditions,there was no significant difference in the reaction time of the subjects when the subjects were matched with the gender of the pictures.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The body effect exists in facial expression recognition.(2)Temperature has a certain influence on facial expression recognition.When the temperature is warm,the subjects tend to judge the neutral expression as positive.When the temperature is cold,the subjects tend to judge the neutral expression as negative.(3)Attribution method has no significant effect on neutral expression recognition.(4)There is no gender matching effect in neutral facial expression recognition,that is,when the gender of the subject is consistent with the gender of the recognized facial expression,there is no significant difference between the reaction time and the inconsistency.(5)Temperature affects the recognition of neutral expression by subjects with external attribution,and temperature has no obvious influence on the attribution of neutral expression.
