| Among the curriculum of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language the priority is always given to Integrated Course and Intensive Reading,while less attention is paid to Reading and Writing Course,which is adverse to the coordinating development of learner’s language abilities of listening,speaking,reading and writing.This article preliminarily explores the teaching strategy of Elementary Reading and Writing Course based on the author’s practical experience,namely teaching this course for overseas students of 2018 Language Acquiring B1 Class in Southwest Petroleum University.Firstly,overseas students are reluctant to practice strokes and characters in the earlier period of observation by the author,demonstrating that overseas students hold fears in writing while performing better in reading.Henceforth,task of teacher in this period should be intriguing students’ interests in writing,and focus of teaching is practicing strokes and basic characters.Secondly,in later stage,thanks to students’ certain basis of reading and writing,reading and writing should go shoulder to shoulder.Thirdly,during the whole teaching process,the author finds that reading ability of overseas students is always better than writing ability.The difficulty in writing is embodied by strokes and characters.Therefore,emphasis is given to strokes and characters instead of sentences in the stage of writing.At last,the author has proposed a preliminary teaching strategy concerning overseas students according to one term of practical experience of the author,in the hope of providing some reference for preliminary reading and writing teaching. |
