A Study On Lanzhou Place Name Characters

Place names are closely related to People's Daily life and social life.Place names are not only a geographical phenomenon,but also a linguistic phenomenon.Due to the influence of history,geography and dialect,the characters for place names in China is relatively stable and retains the shape,sound and meaning of the ancient times.At the same time,the characters used in place names also reflect the division of historical cultural areas,geographical cultural areas and dialect areas.On the one hand,the study of place names,especially the characters used in place names,can excavate regional culture;on the other hand,it can also provide help for the study of language and characters.At the same time,when people are writing placenames,for various reasons,they simplify or create Chinese characters with complicated strokes,which are fixed after the social conventions.Therefore,these rare characters in place names have great research value.This paper takes Lan zhou city's place names characters as the research object,and firstly makes a brief description of the historical geographical environment of Lan zhou city and the basic situation of place names characters.On this basis,the collected data of place names are classified and counted,the characters of place-names of Lan zhou are summarized,and the characters of natural geographical entities and human geographical entities in place-names of Lan zhou are investigated in detail.Secondly,the special characters in Lan zhou place names are researched.Finally,the rare characters in Lan zhou place names are summarized and explained.
