The Writing Of Intellectuals’ Fate Under The Background Of Anti-Japanese War

In the tradition of Chinese literary creation,the subject matter of intellectuals has always been favored by writers.Take the modern writer Qian Zhongshu and the contemporary writer Zong Pu as examples.The novels of The Besieged City and Wild Gourd Guide series of novels both describe the intellectual as a spiritual aristocrat.This thesis takes Wild Gourd Guide and The Besieged City as the research object,to investigate the writer’s writing on the fate of intellectuals under the background of the Anti-Japanese War and to explore the different expressions of writers in different periods in the context of intellectuals in the same era,thus constructing a unique Intellectual discourse.It should be noted that the context of the war of resistance here refers to the beginning of the war of resistance,to discuss the living conditions of Chinese intellectuals in the Anti-Japanese War period and the subsequent times.The author will interpret the author’s writing of intellectuals in times of turmoil from the external influences of the background of the times,the social environment,and the internal factors such as the writer’s growth experience and literary experience.It can be found that the study of the fate of intellectuals under the background of the Anti-Japanese War,whether it is the shaping of the image of intellectuals,the study of the subject matter of intellectuals,or its related cultural studies,is of great significance.This article is based on Zong Pu’s Wild Gourd Guide series and Qian Zhongshu’s The Besieged City novel texts,using textual reading,inductive research and comparative analysis and other research methods to shape the image of intellectuals and the fate of intellectuals from the background of the war of resistance.From the perspective of the intrinsic analysis of writing,the artistic characteristics of intellectuals’ destiny writing,and the causes of intellectual writers’ positions,this paper explores the literary imaginations of writers about the fate of intellectuals,and then discusses the value stand of intellectual writing in the context of the war of resistance.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this article is divided into four parts.The first part is the image research,with the entrance of Wild Gourd Guide and The Besieged City as the entrance,by combing the modern special context written by intellectuals,and the inheritance and evolution of scholars and Chinese modern intellectuals,to show the background of the war or The image of two types of intellectuals who adhere to or compromise.The second part is the text internal research.Through the dual writing of intellectual identity,it analyzes the existence dilemma of intellectuals,and then analyzes the difference and richness of the almost fixed conceptual reference of intellectuals in the contemporary context,so as to constitute the deep description of intellectual writing in modern and contemporary literature.The third part is the study of artistic characteristics.The writer will transform the different imaginations of intellectuals into literary experience,thus conveying the writer’s unique aesthetic pursuit.Whether it is from the poetic construction in literary writing or the choice of discourse in narrative,it reflects the writer’s try to construct a unique intellectual discourse.Qian Zhongshu used the scholarship to enter the novel and criticized the intellectuals through humorous and ironic styles.Zong Pu built the ideal intellectual image with the simple and elegant pursuit.The fourth part is the research on the cause of intellectuals’ position,combined with the writer’s family source,the influence of academic culture and the influence of the environment of the times.It explains the writer’s writing based on the different position of intellectuals fight under the background of intellectual writing,how to analyze its in another perspective,reflect the different spirit of Chinese intellectuals during the Anti-Japanese War and the value orientation.Qian zhongshu and zong pu,who are also intellectuals,explored the original intention behind their works and the complicated considerations of the writers in the process of writing.The different constructions of the discourses of intellectuals by Qian Zhongshu and Zong Pu and the irony or affirmation of intellectuals express the writer’s ardent expectation of re-constructing the spiritual values of intellectuals and promote the intellectual topics in modern and contemporary literature history writing,also makes their works have unique values that transcend the times and occupy an important position in the history of Chinese literature.
