Lin Sanzhi(1898-1989)is a generation of cursive masters in the history of modern Chinese calligraphy.His legendary reputation in the 1970 s is related to the huge repercussions that his calligraphy provoked in the Japanese calligraphy filed.The “Ming-Qing style” is a genre that emerged in Japan after the war,which takes the methods of imitating the model of Chinese calligraphy and playing the role of the Chinese calligraphy style in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties as the main manifestations,its artistic creation orientation is similar to that of Lin Sanzhi.Although,in the 1950 s and 1960 s,the Chinese calligraphy circles could not propose the artistic concept of “Ming-Qing style”,it's not hard for us to find out that the strong “Ming-Qing style” calligraphy factors in its works in the practice of Lin Sanzhi's calligraphy,which has caused the author's great concern and research interest.This paper attempts to grasp this very meaningful topic,through the analysis of the “Ming-Qing style”calligraphy factor in Lin Sanzhi's calligraphy style,on the one hand,the paper proposes a new perspective protruding the spirit and performance of “Ming-Qing style” calligraphy art in order to interpret the Lin Sanzhi's calligraphy,providing a good reason for Lin Sanzhi's calligraphy became popular in Japan.On the other hand,by comparing the differences between Chinese and Japanese artistic concepts and creative performance in the process of calligraphy towards modern times,the article tries to explore the complex and subtle relationship between artistic conception and artistic creation,sometimes even a trade-off.
