Fan painting is a unique form of Chinese traditional painting,and the folding fan is a kind of fan painting.The folding fan originated in Japan and appeared in China for the first time in the paintings of the Southern Song Dynasty.The art of fan painting changed from the fan painting of the Song Dynasty painting art to the painting style of the literati in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The transformation of its functions also led to the evolution of its painting style.The folding fan was made into the mainstream of the art of handicrafts because it began to be favored by the Emperor in the Ming Yongle period.The shape of the fan is particular,it is wider in upper part of the fan and narrower in lower part of the fan,and it is fan-shaped.As one of the carriers of the art of calligraphy and painting,the painter wrote and painted on the blank fan surface.An art form with literati characteristics is loved by people.The size of the fan painting is small and the shape is peculiar.The literati of the dynasties all love to use the fan to show their talents in this area,so the art of fanpainting and calligraphy is flourishing.The Jiangsu and Zhejiang region is an important fan-making area.Only the Su-fan is a literati fan and a representative of the fan.The Wumen school painting,which was born in Suzhou,greatly revitalized the development of literati painting.The literati painting is the most important artistic part in the fan art.This paper firstly analyzes and summarizes the research status of folding fans.Combining with the knowledge and understanding of existing materials,it analyzes the artistic characteristics and techniques of Wumen fan painting,and expounds its own ideas and experiences in the creation of fans.I hope to understand the specific techniques and artistic expressions of fan painting by studying the influence of Su fans on Wumen fan painting.Finally,the article will analysis and summarize the research done in this paper,and give personal opinions on the focus and direction that should be paid attention to in the research of fan creation in the future.
