Research And Individual Creation Practice Of Watercolor Painting On Urban Subject In China

With the rapid development of urbanization in China,more and more watercolor painters depict urban architectural landscape and urban humanistic spirit.This kind of urban painting theme,which embodies the rhythm of life,the flavor of the times,the humanistic documentary and other multiple attributes,has been endowed with more profound aesthetic connotation and artistic height.Cities are a complex.Cities are the places where people live centrally.The relationship between people and people is the most fundamental framework of the city.This framework forms an inseparable close relationship between people and buildings,between people and environment,between people and ecology,between people and nature.Watercolor works with urban themes are the concrete artistic expression of this relationship,which ultimately shows the theme through the connection and integration of various factors.Watercolor painting of Chinese urban theme is an important part of it,which has important aesthetic significance and artistic expression.This paper classifies watercolor paintings with urban themes from three different stages:the early stage(before the founding of the People’s Republic),the middle stage(after the founding of the People’s Republic to the 1990s)and the recent stage(since the 1990s).The first part of the article analyses and compares the representative works of these three stages,and expresses the stage characteristics of their continuous development process.There is always a law of unbalanced development between spiritual civilization and material civilization.Social contradictions arise at the historic moment.Different spiritual pursuits and different social needs arise.At the same time,ideas are slowly fused under various demands,so are artistic ideas.Therefore,painting concepts and expression methods will also produce various fusions,with gradually blurred edges.Urban watercolor works will inevitably have different directions of expression and exploration,in order to further highlight the creator’s creative theme.The second part of the paper,starting with the award-winning excellent works of various large-scale Watercolor Exhibition activities,makes a thorough and detailed analysis.The third part of the paper deals with the public aesthetics,development trajectory and social role of watercolor art.The last part elaborates the background of urban theme works,the way of creation and the expression of theme ideas from the choice of individual theme and personal creative experience.At present,there are many systematic studies on the creation of watercolor paintings with special themes such as still life,characters and scenery,while the research on the creation of watercolor paintings with urban themes is insufficient.Therefore,this paper will use the following argument and elaboration on the creation of watercolor paintings with urban themes,to supplement the new theory.
