A Report On The Translation Of Hip Hop(Part One To Part Five)

The hip hop culture originated in Bronx(USA)in 1970s.After nearly half a century of development,it has infiltrated into many countries and regions of the world including China.However,at present,there are few books in China about hip hop.Introducing such books into China will help us learn more about the history of hip hop,its styles and characteristics,thus providing references for a wide range of music,fashion and art lovers.The translator was commissioned by the publishing company to translate the first to the fifth part of this book,which mainly introduces the origin and development of hip hop culture(clothing,music,etc.).The report is based on this translation project,and the methods and techniques used are analyzed in details.The translator expounds how to provide appropriate translation according to the language style of the original text;analyzes how to use appropriate translation strategies to solve the various kinds of hip hop professional names and technical terms in the text;analyzes how to use translation techniques such as word order transformation,separated translation and passive conversion according to the differences between English and Chinese in view of the diffificulties during translation.Examples are given,especially for the translation experience in hip hop,music,fashion and other professional fields,so as to provide references for translation in related areas.
