Traveling represents a way for the public to relax on holidays,as well as an important channel for people worldwide to learn about cultures each other,promote exchanges and enhance friendship in the era of economic globalization,social informatization and cultural diversity.With increasingly booming in the tourism industry in China,the qualified translation of tourism texts is urgently needed.As one of the main contents of tourism texts,introductory texts of tourist attractions are a significant means of publicizing tourist attractions and their C-E translation quality is closely connected with promoting linguistic environment,enhancing attractions to foreign tourists and disseminating Chinese culture.However,at present,there are lots of problems in C-E translation of introductory texts of tourist attractions,which needs to be improved.Based on the Darwinian principle of adaptation and selection and metaphorical analogies between the translational ecosystem and the natural ecosystem,Eco-Translatology initiated by professor Hu Gengshen makes a comprehensive description of the entire translational ecosystem and the ontological translation theories from the ecological perspective.The thesis expounds the key concepts of Eco-Translatology and summarizes its research achievements and the guiding significance for C-E translation of introductory texts of tourist attractions.From the perspective of Eco-Translatology,the thesis compares different ecological characteristics between Chinese and English introductory texts of tourist attractions,points out the main problems in C-E translation of introductory texts of Mianyang A-level tourist attractions focusing on three dimensions of language,culture and communication and analyses the causes of the existing problems from the entire translational ecosystem of Eco-Translatology.According to the concepts of "multi-dimensional adaptation" and "adaptive selection and transformation" of Eco-Translatology,the thesis explores the basic strategies and common methods in C-E translation of introductory texts of tourist attractions and puts forward corresponding suggestions for revising the translations of introductory texts Mianyang A-level tourist attractions with abundant examples,so as to make the translations more accurate and standardized.The study shows that while translating introductory texts of tourist attractions,translators should take into full consideration both the acceptability of target language readers and the spread of Chinese culture in accordance with their different ecological characteristics.Applying a certain theory,various translation methods and techniques should be used reasonably to maintain the balance of translational ecology so as to create a harmonious international language environment for healthy and sustainable development of tourism industry.The study provides a theoretical perspective and practical basis for improving the quality of C-E translation of introductory texts of tourist attractions.
