Geographic linguistics presents the spatial differences of languages with map technology. It carries out geographical classification and comparison of languages, and combines non-linguistic factors to explore the regional structure, historical evolution, mode of communication, contact effect of languages and the relationships with geographical and cultural phenomena. Its basic procedures include regional investigation of dialects, drawing and interpretation of language maps.Fuyuan County is located in the border area between Yunnan and Guizhou. There are obvious differences in dialect accents. The people of Fuyuan often regard themselves as"the first half of the countyr" or "the second half of the county".The difference between the upper and lower half of the county can be traced back to the historical evolution and can be distinguished by geography and topography. The most important difference is the accent.By using the method of geolinguistics, selecting 12 phonetic items and 19 vocabulary items, this thesis conducted a high-density carpet survey in 25 communities and 137 village committees in Fuyuan County.Based on the survey results, descriptive dialect maps and explanatory dialect maps were drawn.Considering the line harness map of the same dialect, the proximity rate map of the local dialect and the sense ofthe local language, the author divides Fuyuan dialect into four parts:the first half of the county dialect, the second half of the county dialect, the black tone and the later chamber tone.Combining with the point distribution map of dialect features, the author analyses the distribution types and evolution process of phonetic and lexical items in Fuyuan dialect, and discusses the relationship between synchronic differences and diachronic evolution of dialects. The spatial distribution of language is influenced by non-linguistic factors. The formation and changes of the internal differences of Fuyuan dialect are closely related to administrative divisions, geomorphology, immigration and cultural psychology.
