Primo Levi is a famous writer of Italian. His works are mainly based on his experience in Auschwitz concentration camp, which shows the living conditions of people under the control of Nazi totalitarianism and the gradually erod.ed human nature. This paper begins with the interpretation of trauma and traumatic memory, and briefly analyzes the relationship between the traumatic memory written by Levi as a survivor and Auschwitz. With Levi's own suggestion that"writing is to testify"as the core, the hierarchy of traumatic memory writing in Levi's works is sorted out.The first is Levi's witness to individual trauma. The Nazi trampled on people's lives wanton.Like other individuals,Levi was gradually dehumanized at Auschwitz and became a tool manipulated by'the Nazi. The trauma of the individual is mainly from Auschwitz, but Levi also witnessed the unfortunate fate of the survivors'bearing the trauma after liberation.Secondly,Levi witness is composed of innumerable individual collections of the jewish people's common trauma, the establishment of the concentration camp this is for the purpose of the holocaust, and in the Levi witness is not only a Nazi Auschwitz to the injury of the jews, and from other prisoners discrimination against the jews, and this bias is also after the Levi of life. Finally,Levi witnesses the moral issues involved in individual and group trauma, starting with Nazi guilt as the perpetrator. The evil of the Nazi created extreme living conditions. Most of the prisoners gave up their moral principles in order to survive and became blind in the"gray area".Even Levi himself inevitably entered the"gray area".However, through his repeated description of characters and'stories like Lorenzo,it can be seen that Levi has his own value judgment, and he stands firmly on the side of kindness.Levi's'testimony is not only to write a history, but also to complete his salvation in the process of witnessing. He expects public recognition and hopes that what he witnesses is not only the past, but also a warning to people's present and future.
