The Study On The Persons Of The "Northern Yan System" In The Northern Wei Dynasty

The research object of this paper is the political group of "Beiyan" people.The definition of the concept of "Beiyan family" needs many dimensions.The first regional dimension can be regarded as a part of the "Beiyan family" if one lives in the control area of Beiyan and becomes an official.The second consanguinity dimension can be regarded as a part of the "Beiyan family" if one has consanguineous relationship with the Feng family of Beiyan and receives its favors.The third marriage dimension can also be regarded as a part of the "Beiyan family" which has marriage relationship with the Feng family of Beiyan.“ The Fengshi clan in Changle is the core group of the Beiyan clan.Through these four dimensions,the research scope of the "Beiyan family" is determined as follows: Chang family in Western Liaoning,Changle Feng family,Changli Han family,Gao family in Bohaiyi county and Xinchang Gao family in eastern Liaoning,Lelang Wang family and Hongnong Yang family.By sorting out the general situation of these family members,we can better understand the political status of each family in the Northern Wei Dynasty.These families can be divided into three categories: first,the relatives: Chang's,Feng's and Bohai Gaozhao's;second,the ordinary families: Changli Han's,Bohai Gaozun's,Liaodong Gao's and Lelang Wang's;third,between the two: Hongnong Yang's,which represent the different official situations of the "Beiyan" family.By studying the marriage connection of the "Beiyan" people,it has important reference value to understand the change of their social status in the Northern Wei Dynasty.Through the investigation of marriage,we can simply classify the marital status of these families: first,the families that use the status of relatives to promote their political status rapidly.Secondly,although the family status is not enough to marry the Royal family,the family members have married the Chang family and the Feng family.This marriage relationship reflects the tradition of marriage between the "Northern Yan" people in the Zhuyan Dynasty.Thirdly,in the late Northern Wei Dynasty,the people of the "Beiyan family" married with the children of other large ethnic groups,expanding the scope of marriage.Through the study of the "Beiyan" people,it is conducive to improving the study of the relevant issues of the Northern Wei Dynasty.
