Heidegger's Thinking On Technology And It's Contemporary Significance

Whether in the industrial society or the information society we are gradually entering,science and technology are particularly important productive force.On the one hand,science and technology have promoted the development of China's economy and society.On the other hand,it has also brought about increasingly serious modernity issues,such as environmental damage,energy crisis,moral decline,cultural vulgarity,survival anxiety,and so on.Therefore,deeply understanding the nature of science and technology is of great significance for us to rationally build modern society in China.Heidegger is one of the greatest western thinkers in the 20 th century,and his thought about technology still has important enlightening and reflective significance for us in the 21 st century.Based on Heidegger's works on thought about technolgy,this paper fully draws on and absorbs the existing research results at home and abroad.It is not only responds to the problems that may existe in previous studies,but also appropriately explain and develop some of Heidegger's thoughts which have not been fully valued by people.This paper discusses the essence of modern technology,the problem of modern technology,the way out of modern technology and the meaning of technological thinking,and its logic is also developed in this order.The first three chapters are the introduction of Heidegger's technological thought,and the last one is my own reflection.The first chapter is the explanation of Heidegger's questioning on the essence of modern technology.By questioning the popular ideas of technology,Heidegger establishes the outlook of truth about technology——a kind of “Disclosure” and deeply reflects the relationship between science and technology.The second chapter is the analysis of the root causes of modern technical problems.These problems are directly manifested in the concealment and alienation of human beings and other things caused by “Gestell”;The deep root of these problems lies in modern metaphysics——modern technology is essentially theaccomplishment form of modern metaphysics;Although the problem of modern technology has the root of metaphysics,it is by no means a simple epistemological problem.Its more authentic root lies in “the destiny of being” which belongs to “the truth of being”.The danger and rescue of technology authentically originate from“Ereignis”.The third chapter is the discussion of the way out of technical problems.We can resort to reflection to safeguard “the truth of being” in a manner of “leaving the matters alone” and “open to the mysterious open mind”;We can resort to art to achieve the harmonious association of establishing the world and creating the earth;We can also resort to poetry to protect the richness and unity of the world that as a whole consist of earth,sky,divinities and mortals in a poetic dimension.Only in this way can human existence belong to its authentic meaning and we live poetically on the earth.Finally,I reflect the contemporary significance of Heidegger's thought about technology.On the one hand,by observing contemporary technological phenomena,I analyze Heidegger's “Gestell” in our “society and life” in order to deepen people's understanding of “the problems of technology”;On the other hand,I discuss the important enlightenment of Heidegger's thought about technology in our contemporary era.
